POPULISM AND THE FUTURE OF EUROPEAN DEMOCRACY

Populism and the Future of European Democracy (POPEDEM) promotes EU studies through a initiative combination of open teaching, virtual classroom, co-creative public debates, action research and policy recommendations. It is based on the recent academic debates in political science, sociology, communication science and other relevant disciplines on populism, its roots, character and consequences for future development of European Union as a specific form of democratic transnational political entity . It recognised problems and shortcomings of European system of governance and complex and other troublesome relation between EU institutions and its member nation states that were widely exploited by various populist movements.
